Logo Development Tips

Recently I had an inquiry from one of our many Professional Social Network Portals concerning Logo Development. Therefore I will like to post some of the basic information provided during that consultation for our viewers.

Some of the factors to take into consideration when created a logo are as follow;

Concept,

Once that you have your concept in mind, you have to verify the design will not create conflicts with other trademarks. There is nothing more upsetting than implement a full logo development to later find out a rejection letter from the trademark office. Think of it as none cost effective development.

Is very important to be conscious during the logo development, and know that once the logo is created, most of everything that concerns with design within your site or marketing materials, will affect all your future design visuals. Your designer will always have to adjust the materials toward the logo so everything within the design looks dress right dress and even. This makes the visual flow from the viewer to be pleasant and not disruptive. Therefore think of this like if you design a logo that have a high contrast of blue like Facebook and then your site primary theme color is Green.

Colors, texture & Dimensions,

Keep in mind your letter heads, companies’ brochures, contracts, and Social Medias Portals. As your business progress you will start implementing social media network and most people don’t take into consideration the dimension and colors. Therefore, when uploading in SMN they don’t look attractive, when the logo is not design properly. Also you have to take into consideration your marketing efforts. This means to evaluate what are your main means of marketing. If your business is primary a product base line, then you should have your designer visualize also the color of the product case and label.

Make sure that you get the logo in numerous digital formats, size, dimensions, resolutions, and colors. This way when the time comes to use a specific format for a magazine, flier, digital banner, news paper, etc, you will have it ready instead of rehiring again and again to fix the formats as that will not be cost effective in the long run.

Industry trends,

Make sure the concept caters to your markets (meaning customers) and the design has to be simple but yet descriptive to a point that it makes sense to the viewers. An example of this would be creating a logo that represents a tropical sunshine scenario when you are selling rain coats.  For that concept the approach could be a shield protecting the sunshine as an example. Most common mistakes that I confront with companies’ founders are that they create their logos towards their own taste and likes instead towards their targeted markets. Remember that with our current modern technology stage, logos now are more of a quick visual vehicle that provides immediate information rather than a company stamp concept that even large companies are still utilizing.

Among other criteria’s these are some basic factors for you to take into consideration as the logo will always be your business trademark and visual concept.
